If you pay to use your devices over a set period, you can simply return them to Insight – the monthly fee takes account of their residual value over the course of the payment period. Insight can then redeploy or recycle them helping to reduce waste - in line with security, environmental and WEEE objectives.

If you purchase your devices upfront, you may be faced with a costly problem of safe and secure disposal. An alternative is for Insight to refurbish, reconfigure and redeploy – saving money and conserving the planet’s precious resources and potentially releasing funds for use elsewhere.

Devices also need to have their operating system and security policies updated. This can be a highly technical procedure, which can be provided by a third party or directly through Insight.

Operational Efficiency

Asset management is at the heart of device lifecycle refresh. Insight can integrate with your existing asset management systems or provide a standalone asset management service to support DaaS. Capital owned assets can be redeployed or recycled helping to reduce waste and support carbon reduction targets.

Insight can integrate with many ITSM platforms including ServiceNow to automate the process of joiners, movers, leavers. Our own team of automation specialists create lean, friction-free connections to support request fulfilment expediently. Supported by our adoption and change management team we create easy and user-friendly experiences to onboard and offboard users to enable organisations to remain agile in terms of headcount.

From the consolidation of packaging, efficient drop off and collection services to recycling of retired assets, Insight is working to reduce emissions related to the provision and lifecycle of devices. Additionally, we can plant a tree for each DaaS device, creating forests both locally and overseas supporting our carbon and social value initiatives.

If you opt into a ‘break-fix service’, damaged, lost or stolen devices will be replaced with a ready-to-use device – reducing lost time and improving productivity. Additionally, damaged devices can be repaired and then put back into stock – preserving the planet’s resources.

Furthermore, we will proactively monitor device age and refresh life cycles in your estate, co-ordinate repair activities and work with you to plan and deliver replacement devices for those coming to the end of functional or lease life.

Employee Experience

By consolidating the number of suppliers that you have to transact with and manage, we can reduce the number of shipments made to employees’ home addresses. Insight can deliver employees a single package with all their needs, direct to their home address – fully configured to their user profile and ready to use out of the box providing a great end user experience. The reduced amount of deliveries contribute towards carbon reduction initiatives.

Insight can help you create a ‘persona map’ of your workforce and identify different user profiles. - Choosing three or four devices with specifications to match the main profiles. This will help to avoid the risk of overspending on some users and reducing the productivity of others. Specifying devices that will meet the needs of your team for the longer term will extend their useful life and reduce waste.

Sustainability

Following the planning phase, and the identification of suitable devices, Insight can help you to carefully select appropriate vendors. Among the things we will consider is a vendor’s use of recycled or responsibly sourced materials in batteries, carcasses, and chips. We will also think about the kind of packaging the vendors use.

By choosing a non-disposal route, you can not only benefit the environment but also provide invaluable resources to those that need it most. Once the devices have been wiped of all data – in accordance with local data protection regulations – they can be refurbished and redeployed into charitable organisations, education, government offices, healthcare organisations or even small-to-medium enterprise businesses.<br/><br/>

One of Insight’s partners even has a unique role for devices that can’t be reused. They are sent to a special workshop at HMP Hindley, where participants are provided with valuable training, helping them to develop a work ethic and a purpose. Devices are broken down into components and precious metals are reused and/or sold on for reuse to fund the ongoing programme, while prisoners receive valuable employment training, including an NVQ in recycling, in preparation for release.
